Unable to install printer.  The print process does not exist
Afternoon, I am trying to setup an Olivette MF25 printer on a Win 7 32 bit laptop. It is on the network, has a static IP. I have downloaded the drivers and installed on a few other laptops ok, on this one I get an error when installing the driver "Unable to install printer. The process does not exist" I have tried all of the suggested fixes that I could find on the net, i.e: - - Disabled AV and Firewalls - Tried installing as another accout - Tried opening mmc and using printer manager to delete the driver and then tried re-installing - Tried "replacing the exisiting driver" when running through the printer setup. Nothing seems to work and it is the only printer nearby, very annoying.. Any suggestions welcome?! Thanks

Did you check to see if the print spooler is running? services.msc. Also you might need to try and run the Microsoft KB 2000007 fix it up to reset spooler to defaults. if you dont have the spoolsv.exe running among your processes then that might be the issue. OR try this is your spooler doesn't work properly. Try to run this command from the RUN dialogbox: open run from start button -> run and then copy and paste the below command and press enter. regsvr32 \windows\system32\ spoolsv.exe Read the entire post there so you can get an idea how to fix it.Look at the first picture in that post and try to find the spoolsv.exe file in the location c:\windows\system32\ location. if you can try to take the file from another windows installation and copy it to c:\windows\system32 the try this command from the RUN dialogbox: regsvr32 \windows\system32\ spoolsv.exe There is Nice troubleshooter for the print spooler at gameaddict.eu you ca also run regedit to search for the file spoolsv to see where the references of it are made. Try windows updates, also you can install service pack 3 if you dont have it already. to find out if you have sp3 run winver by go to start button -> click the run dialog box and then type in winver press enter. to go to windows updates open internet explorer and on the tools options menu you should find a windows updates shortcut. or start -> allprograms - at the top windows updates shortcut. Hi, I checked the Windows 7 Compatibility Center. Your Olivette MF25 printer doesn't show in the list. Therefore, please confirm with the manufacture if it is compatible with Windows 7. If so, you can go to the following link to load the latest driver and install it in Clean Boot. http://www.olivettibenelux.com/drivers.html Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
